MAPIM @ DBP

Malaysia Scholarly Publishing Council (MAPIM) is an active body in the development of scholarly and scientific publications. Its members are from public institutions of higher learning (IPTA), research centers in Malaysia and the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP). The council was established in 11 July 1996 pursuant to the Technical Committee Meeting DBP-IPT (5/96) at the DBP Sarawak branch. MAPIM was officially established on 22 May 1997 by its Guide's Committee Meeting. The Director of the Department of Higher Learning, as the Chairman of the Malaysian Scholarly Publishing Council (MAPIM) Meeting, appoints all MAPIM's member. Presently, there are 27 members in MAPIM which comprises DBP, IPTA's presses, research centers and government agencies.


Among MAPIM Committee during last meeting held at Sanggar Za'aba, DBP Kuala Lumpur on 21/05/2009. I was there as a spokeperson for BukuMalaysia.com. A 15 minutes presentation and Q&A to the committee about BukuMalaysia.com.

It generally includes redundant or backup power supplies, redundant data communications connections, environmental controls (e.g., air conditioning, fire suppression) and security devices. This facility of IT, run 24x7 by qualified IT Operation Specialist.

PROFILE
Khursaini A Fatah is 31 years old and lives in KLANG, Malaysia, where he works as an IT Operation Specialist for multinational company to serve local airliner.

He's been passionate about photography for about 18 years, started with his late father's RICOH 500GX rangefinder and has been shooting digitally for five years.

Khursaini shoots with Canon EOS 350D and 3000V bodies with EF-S 18-55mm, EF 28-90mm, EF 75-300mm and EF 50mm.

As well as planning a real solo exhibition, he is consistently working on building a series of travel photo journal, art photography, and stock images collections.

2008 was a year where Khursaini A Fatah left his comfort zone in IT environment and lifestyle. This drastic and unplanned journey took in place when he felt the emptiness in him.

Khursaini decided to travel back time to where he left over 15 years ago. This revisited was just to recall those memories as he grew up and the dreamed of his future.

He shared some of his experienced and feeling thru lens and freeze them on prints.

Kill the PAIN


It' a big headache when every images submitted to agency got rejected. Yep, this is totally mind killing project. And unforgiven for any imperfect shot that I've produced.

Well said, this is my challenge to be a perfectionist but not to satisfy anyone or anybody. Just me, myself and I.

I took painkiller to ease the pain of rejection.
