Kill the PAIN

It' a big headache when every images submitted to agency got rejected. Yep, this is totally mind killing project. And unforgiven for any imperfect shot that I've produced.

Well said, this is my challenge to be a perfectionist but not to satisfy anyone or anybody. Just me, myself and I.

I took painkiller to ease the pain of rejection.

Sarong Batik

Batik (pronunciation: [ˈba.teʔ], but often, in English, is [ˈbæ.tɪk] or [bəˈtiːk]) is a wax-resist dyeing technique used on textile. Due to modern advances in the textile industry the term has also been used for fabrics which incorporates the traditional batik patterns although not necessarily produced using the batik technique, silk batik is especially popular.

Javanese traditional batik, especially from Jogjakarta, has special meanings which is rooted to the Javanese idea of the universe. Traditional colours include indigo, dark brown and white, which represents the three major Hindu Gods, and certain patterns can only be worn by royals. Other regions of Indonesia have their own unique patterns. Patterns similar to Indonesian batik are also found in several countries of West Africa, such as Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Uganda and Mali, and in Asia, such as India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Burma, which displays the influence of the Indonesian batik internationally.

West Indian Jasmine

Ixora is a genus from the family Rubiaceae, consisting of tropical evergreens and shrubs. Though native to tropical areas in Asia, especially India, ixora now grows commonly in tropical climates in the USA, such as Florida. Ixora is also commonly known as West Indian Jasmine. Other common names include: rangan, kheme, ponna, chann tanea, techi, pan, santan, jarum-jarum, Jungle flame, Jungle geranium, and many more. Plants possess leathery leaves, ranging from 3 to 6 inches in length, and produce large clusters of tiny flowers in the summer. Members of Ixora prefer acidic soil, and are suitable choices for bonsai.

Red ixora flowers are commonly used in Indian folk medicine.

It is also a popular choice for hedges in parts of South East Asia, like in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. In tropical climates they flower year round.

Terengganu Darul Iman

Terengganu
(Jawi: ترڠڬانو, formerly spelled Trengganu or Tringganu) is a sultanate and constitutive state of federal Malaysia. The state is also known by its Arabic honorific, Darul Iman ("Abode of Faith"). The coastal city of Kuala Terengganu which stands at the mouth of the broad Terengganu River is both the state and royal capital as well as the largest city in Terengganu.

I was in Terengganu for a very compact trip held by FMDC. We discover Marang, Kuala Terengganu and Pulau Kapas in just one day. Sure i'll be returning back for Free and Easy Holiday. Fuhh!!

Morning Glory

This image was captured while i'm in Duta Sand Beach Resort, Cherating, Pahang last year. Was checked-in for a week as a Mentor for Photojournalism Course. While the other were still on bed, I've walked out to the beach to catch up with this moment.

On the first morning, the horizon were clear without clouds when the sun started to rise. That was precious moment for me. So i decided to come back the next morning with my camera to capture that moment again.

But I was disappointed by cloudy horizon. Yet still i managed to get few shots of the morning glory. For more images of sunrise from my collection, kindly visit my portfolio at

FreeSTYLE Motocross

Freestyle motocross, a relatively new variation of supercross, does not involve racing and instead concentrates on performing acrobatic stunts while jumping motocross bikes. The winner is chosen by a group of judges. The riders are scored on style, level of trick difficulty, best use of the course, and frequently crowd reactions as well. FMX (Freestyle motocross) was introduced to the X Games and mainstream audiences in 1999.

The two main types of freestyle events are:

  • Big Air (also known as Best Trick), in which each rider gets three jumps — usually covering more than 60 feet (18 m) — from a dirt-covered ramp. A panel of 10 judges evaluates the style, trick difficulty, and use of the course, and produces a score on a 100-point scale. Each rider's highest single-jump score is compared; top score wins.
  • Freestyle Motocross, the older of the two disciplines. Riders perform two routines, lasting between 90 seconds and 14 minutes, on a course consisting of multiple jumps of varying lengths and angles that generally occupy one to two acres (.4 to .8 hectres). Like Big Air, a panel of judges assigns each contestant a score based on a 100-point scale, looking for difficult tricks and variations over jumps.

Building up PORTFOLIO

Early 2009, i have planned to fill up this photographic year with stock type images. I started to build my stock portfolio by gathering my old image files. Look out and sort for potential images. They are lot of them, from my outing and travel activities.

And i've uploaded them to several stock agencies. You may click the links to my portfolio.

But, unfortunately it is very hard find images that fit the requirement as a stock images. Huh!!

What is STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY ?!!

Stock photography consists of existing photographs that can be licensed for specific uses. Publishers, advertising agencies, graphic artists, and others use stock photography to fulfill the needs of their creative assignments.

A customer who uses stock photography instead of hiring a photographer can save time and money, but can also sacrifice creative control. Stock images can be presented in search able on line databases, purchased on line, and delivered via download or email.

A collection of stock photography may also be called a photo archive, picture library, image bank or photo bank. As modern stock photography distributors often carry stills, video, and illustrations, none of the existing terminology provides a perfect match.
