2 hours riding from KL .. you will reach to Sahom Valley .. located in the Kampar District, Perak .. this area is famous with durian - King of Tropical Fruits .. it is an Agro-Eco-Park at the edge of palm oil plantation .. suitable as day trip picnic for family .. the river flow mild, was cold and refreshing .. safe for children activity with adult supervision .. there are 2 resorts in the area if you are planning to stay over nite .. that area will be complete pitch at nite and that's make it a good spot to shoot the stars and milky way .. just make sure you are on the rite time .. check your star chart and weather schedule ..

when shooting in sunny day was ruling by f16 .. what about the moon ?.. the full moon especially .. how to shoot it ?!! correctly .. or the way said by the rules .. i m not going to teaching you step by step .. but i m always start with the f11 and rules of thumb .. metering the bright source (of course the moon lah) .. the result usually will turn out bright .. u cant event see the shape of the moon .. (*sigh) but from there I started to adjust everything up and down .. combination of speed up shutter .. and slow down the ISO .. fast shutter speed will cut down the amount of light that burn the sensor .. slow ISO will reduce the noise .. adjusted them till i found the most i like the moon of that nite .. it always vary result from one nite to other nite .. take your camera out and shoot the moon .. ohhh I remained the aperture opening at 11 .. 

note : don't left your 3 legs buddy at home .. bring him along ..

It is time to leave Lembah Harau .. There is a place to stop by before we move on .. New Zealand of Payakumbuh, Padang Mangateh .. it is a dairy farm and a pasture on the highland at the feet of Mount Sago .. Huge field of green pasture divided into few segments .. we climbed up to the top with the scooter .. it was noon, but temperature was cool and wind blow softly .. very refreshing and breeze .. from the top (the end of the route) we can see the whole Payakumbuh at the below and Harau at far .. I can stand there forever but i can't .. Maninjau is calling now ..

Mysteries of Food Photography

Food photography is very challenging to me .. went to many local good eatery places .. whenever reasonable time and cost and fair review .. just to try them and enjoy to snap one or two insta-worth images as memory (and show off as well) .. but it will always turn out bad .. the foods always stunning and fabulous delicious .. the images i shot i meant .. not look good and not like as i see them and taste .. maybe be because of my bad taste (in something else) or what .. really need serious advice and thought about this matter .. this is big issue to one .. so far the therapy i get is, to post the images in Google Local Guide .. and i wonder some of them make other people feeling good and motivated to make them-self available to the place I have been .. I'm glad at least I make some move to others ..

Capati is an healthier choice for breakfast .. not oily like perata or roti canai .. prepared fresh when ordered and served with various curry and other sides .. fish curry, mutton curry, kima (minced meat), sardine and sayo (less oil fried cabbages) .. last February, on a trip to Yala i would like to try one recommended local restaurant there .. unfortunately when we was arrived, it just about to closed the business for that day .. maybe next time, whenever there is opportunity to ride along the Route 401..

Mistakes happened when we make from Merek to Samosir

In 2018, we were riding from Medan to Danao Toba .. ManGunong, Ise and I .. we just rode the scooter, put on helmet, and pull the throttle .. second day of the trip, we've planned to reach Tele and get down to Pangururan .. i'm the navigator but i don't hold the GPS .. Ise was hold it .. he was the trip leader and been responsible to reconfirm and re-correct navigator .. I have miss the junction at Simalem to Silahilahi .. so we can ride by the lake, enjoy the view, taking photo and pretend to be a tourist (yes we are) and having the famous lake shrimp as been told by the local guy at the losmen (lodge-man) last nite ... since we already miss the junction .. all the above mentioned remain mentioned only .. none is done .. this is the second turn that we missed, since yesterday about to get down to the lake .. 

Thick mist covered the less-traveled route

The route we took was on the high side .. higher than the Simalem .. even at 10am, there still thick mist on that area that day .. at one spot we were barely see the road .. the distance view less than 10m .. i pull over to the roadside when i saw some safe spot .. we wait sometime to give-way the cloud to pass .. i don't want to miss another junction to Silalahi no more .. and know what .. we almost missed it too .. god bless GPS .. mistakes happened for reasons .. a good thing from mistake is a lesson .. learned the lesson will lessen the mistake taken and making in the future .. 

Silahilahi beach - calm and windy

Silahilahi is a local tourism spot with beautiful and scenic view .. the beach is clean, the traditional village is calm .. the temperature is not as cold as the losmen area we slept last nite .. and no hot shower provided .. the supply is fresh direct waterfall from the mountain .. over refreshing .. but here down by the lake, it's cool and perfect to set up a tent outside .. else you could spent the night at the losmen by the local villager ..

We continued the journey to Tele .. climbing up Pondom back to the main route, Seribudolok .. from here it is about 70km via main road and took around 1 hour 45 minutes to reach the destination .. after previous mistakes was learned this time we become smarter .. i become smarter .. we detour from the main course using the alternative short cut way .. from 70km to 50km (can refer Google for the alternatives) .. that's a huge cut, thanks to the navigator heart beat and feeling .. but the cut claimed another hour of our riding time .. deep cuts instead ...
